Space Coast Daily Presents Molly Hatchet

Southern Rock Royalty Meets Slow-Smoked Flavor: Molly Hatchet Headlines the Space Coast Boots, Brews, Bourbon & BBQ Festival

When legendary Jacksonville Southern rockers Molly Hatchet take the stage at the Space Coast Boots, Brews, Bourbon & BBQ (BBBB) Festival, attendees can expect an explosive collision of dual-lead guitars, gritty vocals, and authentic Florida roots.

Set against the scenic backdrop of the Merritt Island Veterans Memorial Amphitheater (555 Fortenberry Road, Merritt Island, FL), the Space Coast BBBB is Brevard County’s premier Southern-style gathering—blending slow-smoked pit barbecue, craft beer samplings, smooth bourbon tastings, and all-day line dancing into one massive celebration. Bringing Molly Hatchet to headline caps off a full day of Southern culture with one of the most storied acts in American rock history.

Gator Country Legends: The Molly Hatchet Story

Founded in Jacksonville, Florida, in the early 1970s and named after the notorious 17th-century axe murderess "Hatchet Molly," the band helped define the hard-edged, blues-infused side of the Southern Rock explosion alongside peers like Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers Band.

As chronicled on the band's official history at MollyHatchet.com:

Multi-Platinum Beginnings: Their self-titled 1978 debut on Epic Records quickly certified multi-platinum, built on relentless touring alongside rock giants such as Aerosmith, Bob Seger, and The Rolling Stones.
Flirtin’ with Disaster (1979): The band solidified their status as road-warrior legends—frequently playing 250 shows a year—behind massive radio anthems like "Flirtin’ with Disaster," "Whiskey Man," and their signature reinterpretation of Gregg Allman's "Dreams I'll Never See."
The Current Lineup: Today, Molly Hatchet is led by longtime guitarist and bandleader Bobby Ingram, keyboard and Hammond B3 maestro John Galvin, bassist Tim Lindsey, powerhouse frontman Parker Lee on lead vocals, and drummer Garrett Ramsden.

A New Era: Lost Horizon & Abbey Road Studios

Molly Hatchet’s headlining appearance on the Space Coast arrives during a landmark period for the group. The band recently completed work on Lost Horizon—their first full-length studio album in 16 years—recorded at London’s historic Abbey Road Studios (specifically Studio 2, the iconic room associated with The Beatles) alongside engineer Chris Bolster (Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Elton John).

"In Studio 2 at Abbey Road, it was an incredibly emotional experience," Bobby Ingram noted of the sessions. "Working with Chris Bolster and channeling the foundational roots of our music while marching boldly into the future… this is Molly Hatchet 2.0. We are keeping the foundational spirit alive, honoring our values, and bringing that fire straight to the stage."

Festivalgoers will get to hear classic roadhouse anthems alongside fresh cuts from Lost Horizon, including the high-octane lead single "Dixie Highway."
